How to change address in Aadhar card ?

What is Aadhar ?

Aadhar is a 12-digit unique number issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) to the residents of India, on behalf of the Government of India and it is a govt id which can be used at many places. The Aadhaar card is certainly one of the most important documents now these days. It acts as proof of identity and proof of address for residents of India.

However, earlier, the UIDAI allowed citizens to change their address on their Aadhaar card without submitting valid proof of address. But now, the Aadhaar issuing authority has changed the process of changing address in your Aadhar card. Users can change their address in aadhar card by providing one of the document listed as below to the authorised centre.

Replying to an Aadhaar Card user, UIDAI has tweeted that the Address Validation Letter facility has been discontinued until further notice.
